I received her gracious blessing to share this broadly and widely, and to ask all of you to please share extensively also. Our dear and beloved Gerondissa Johanna, Abbess of the Nativity of the Mother of God Monastery in Asten, the Netherlands has cancer in her liver and pancreas that has started to spread. She asks for our prayers, for good treatment and healing, God willing. Please start the New Year with prayers for Gerondissa Johanna—let them spread like wildfire! Please forward my message and share with monasteries, churches, families and friends. Please pray for her before Holy Relics and Icons too. I recently read that God listens to the prayers of children always, because their hearts are pure. Please invite children to pray for Gerondissa Johanna too. Lord please have mercy and bring her healing. Please forgive my boldness, I love her dearly as does my family, and we pray for her healing. Thank you, and God bless you all with a Happy New Year filled with much love! You have our love always!

Oproep tot gebed voor Moeder Johanna + Appeal to Prayer for Mother Johanna + Appel à la prière pour la Mère Johanna + Ἔκκλησις διά προσευχήν διά τήν Γερόντισσα Ἰωάννα

Met bezorgdheid, maar ook in vertrouwen op Gods barmhartigheid, richten wij ons tot u met een dringende oproep tot gebed voor de Eerwaarde Moeder Johanna, overste van ons Klooster te Asten, die momenteel zwaar beproefd wordt door een ernstige ziekte.
Laat ons samen onze toevlucht nemen tot onze goede en menslievende God en Hem smeken dat Hij haar “door Zijn liefdevolle barmhartigheid moge bijstaan met de genade van de Heilige Geest. Hij die alle ziekten geneest en verlost van de dood, moge Hij ook Zijn trouwe dienares Moeder Johanna van haar ziekte naar ziel en lichaam genezen en haar levend maken in Zijn welgevallen, opdat zij de Hem verschuldigde dankzegging en aanbidding door goede werken moge vervullen” (Gebed ontnomen uit het Sacrament de Ziekenzalving).
Wij wensen Moeder Johanna, evenals Zuster Taïssia en allen die haar met liefde en toewijding omringen, veel sterkte, troost en de overvloedige genade van God toe.
Wij vragen in het bijzonder aan alle priesters haar speciaal te gedenken in de Goddelijke Liturgie, en roepen alle gelovigen op haar te dragen in hun persoonlijke gebed.
Moge de Heer, arts van ziel en lichaam, haar nabij zijn en Zijn heilige wil aan haar voltrekken.

With deep concern, yet in complete trust in the mercy of God, we address to you this urgent appeal to prayer for the Reverend Mother Johanna, Abbess of our Monastery in Asten, who is presently being severely tried by a serious illness.
Let us unite in prayer and take refuge in our good God, the Lover of mankind, imploring Him to assist her “through His loving mercy with the grace of the Holy Spirit. He who heals every illness and delivers from death, may He also heal His faithful servant, Mother Johanna, from her sickness of soul and body, and grant her life according to His good pleasure, so that she may fulfill, through good works, the thanksgiving and worship that are due to Him” (prayer taken from the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick).
We extend to Mother Johanna, as well as to Sister Taïssia and to all those who surround her with love and devoted care, our heartfelt wishes for strength, consolation, and the abundant grace of God.
We ask in a special way that all priests remember her particularly during the Divine Liturgy, and we invite all the faithful to carry her in their personal prayers.
May the Lord, Physician of souls and bodies, be near to her and accomplish in her His holy will.

Avec une profonde sollicitude, mais aussi dans une confiance totale en la miséricorde de Dieu, nous nous adressons à vous par cet appel pressant à la prière pour la Révérende Mère Johanna, higoumène de notre Monastère d’Asten, actuellement durement éprouvée par une grave maladie.
Unissons-nous dans la prière et réfugions-nous auprès de notre Dieu bon et ami des hommes, Le suppliant de bien vouloir l’assister, « par Sa miséricorde pleine d’amour, de la grâce du Saint-Esprit. Lui qui guérit toute maladie et délivre de la mort, qu’Il guérisse également Sa fidèle servante, la Mère Johanna, de sa maladie de l’âme et du corps, et qu’Il la fasse vivre selon Son bon plaisir, afin qu’elle accomplisse, par de bonnes œuvres, l’action de grâce et l’adoration qui Lui sont dues » (prière tirée du Sacrement de l’Onction des malades).
Nous adressons à la Mère Johanna, ainsi qu’à Sœur Taïssia et à tous ceux qui l’entourent avec amour et dévouement, nos vœux de force, de consolation et de la grâce surabondante de Dieu.
Nous demandons tout particulièrement à tous les prêtres de la commémorer spécialement lors de la Divine Liturgie, et nous invitons l’ensemble des fidèles à la porter dans leur prière personnelle.
Que le Seigneur, médecin des âmes et des corps, lui soit proche et accomplisse en elle Sa sainte volonté.

Μέ βαθεῖαν ἀνησυχίαν, ἀλλά καί μέ ἀπόλυτον ἐμπιστοσύνην εἰς τό ἔλεος τοῦ Θεοῦ, σᾶς άπευθύνομεναὐτήν τήν ἐπείγουσα ἔκκλησιν διά προσευχήν ὑπέρ τῆς Ὁσιολογιωτάτης Γερόντισσα Ἰωάννας, ἡγουμένης τῆς Ἱερᾶς μας Μονῆς εἰς Asten, ἡ ὁποία πάσχει αὐτόν τόν καιρόν ἀπό σοβαράν ἀσθένειαν.
Ἄς ἑνώσομεν τάς προσευχάς μας καί ἄς καταφύγωμεν εἰς τόν Ἀγαθόν καὶ Φιλάνθρωπον Θεόν ἡμῶν, παρακαλώντας Τον νά τήν βοηθήσῃ, «τῷ πανοικτίρμονι ἐλέει Αὐτοῦ, τῇ χάριτι τοῦ Ἁγίου Πνεύματος. Ὁπᾶσαν νόσον ἰώμενος καί ἐκ θανάτου λυτρούμενος, παράσχῃ τήν ἴασιν τῇ πιστῇ δούλῃ Αὐτοῦ Ἰωάννᾳ ἡγουμένῃ, ἐκ τῆς συνεχούσης αὐτήν σωματικῆς καί ψυχικῆς ἀσθενείας καί ζωοποιήσῃ αὐτήν τῇ Αὐτοῦ ἀγαθότητι, ἵνα αὕτη, διά τῶν καλῶν ἔργων, τήν ὀφειλομένην εὐχαριστίαν καί δοξολογίαν Αὐτῷ ἀναπέμψῃ» (εὐχή ληφθεῖσα ἐκ τοῦ Μυστηρίου τοῦ Εὐχελαίου).
Ἀπευθύνομεν εἰς τήν Μητέρα Ἰωάνναν, καθώς καί εἰς τήν ἀδελφήν Ταϊσίαν καί εἰς ὅλους ὅσους τήν περιβάλλουν μέ ἀγάπην καί ἀφοσίωσιν, τάς εὐχάς μας διά δύναμιν, παρηγορίαν καί τήν ὑπεράφθονον χἀριντοῦ Θεοῦ.
Παρακαλοῦμεν ἰδιαιτέρως ὅλους τούς ἱερεῖς νά τήν μνημονεύουν, κυρίως κατά τή διάρκειαν τῆς Θείας Λειτουργίας, καί καλοῦμεν ὅλους τούς πιστούς νά τήν ἔχουν εἰς τάς ἰδιαιτέρας προσευχάς των.
Εἴθε ὁ Κύριος, ἰατρός ψυχῶν καί σωμάτων, νά εἶναι πλησίον της καί ἐκπληρώσῃ εἰς αὐτήν τό ἅγιον θέλημά του.
